Santa and I love tradition and cranberries are very traditional. Did you know that some of today's cranberry bogs are more than 100 years old?
Another fun fact about fresh cranberries is that they have small pockets of air in them. That's why they float in their bogs!
Here is a Cranberry Christmas Cake recipe that turns out one of Santa's favorite Christmas desserts. I love it too because it's a real time saver at an extra busy time of year!
2 cups of white sugar 3 large eggs
3/4 cup soft butter
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
teaspoons grated orange peel 2 cups of flour
A pinch of nutmeg
1 bag of fresh cranberries (12 oz)
When cool, frost with your favorite frosting. Santa is especially fond of cream cheese frosting and I sometimes add fresh cranberries and pecans on top. Enjoy!
